Qualifications
As a Senior UX Designer, your daily responsibilities will include:Identifying, developing, and implementing best practices and standards for designing government services. Championing user needs and creating simple, effective, and accessible service designs. Developing prototypes and concepts to communicate and test ideas with users, iterating based on evidence. Having experience with the GDS/GOV. UK style guide and service design standards. Mapping user journeys and processes, visualizing design challenges. Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team, sharing design work, and engaging in research. Additionally, you will:Promote user-centered design and actively participate in the Design community within Methods and across government. Take charge of your personal learning and development to enhance your knowledge and experience. Provide support and guidance for UX project delivery. Coach and mentor graduates or trainees. Help upskill team members working on the same project. Assist with training and development plans in collaboration with the Head of UXD and senior UXDs. Support the development of the UXD team culture and career progression opportunities. Organize team retrospectives, design critiques, and other meetings. Support hiring efforts for permanent staff as needed.
