Role Overview: Senior Technical Operations Developer

Location: London, United Kingdom

The PlayStation Studios User Research group supports first- and second-party game development studios worldwide. This team provides player research throughout the development cycle, offering data and insights that help improve game quality and player experience. The group operates advanced playtest labs and has built proprietary tools for livestreaming play sessions and analyzing player data. The Senior Technical Operations Developer will work with the global Technical Operations team to enhance these tools and address the technical requirements of ongoing research efforts.

What You Will Do

  • Design and build tools that support the full research process.
  • Define and take responsibility for the long-term technical roadmap and requirements for research tools infrastructure.
  • Anticipate changing technical needs, planning and implementing improvements to current tools and systems.
  • Manage task sizing and prioritization using agile development methods.
  • Create and implement structured feedback systems to drive ongoing improvements to research tools.
  • Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting for complex lab systems.
  • Develop scalable solutions to support technical troubleshooting and self-service for a large team.
  • Proactively educate the research team on technical topics and tool usage.
