Role overview
The Senior Systems Test Automation Engineer, based in Irvine, California, will develop and support automated test processes for vehicle systems. This role involves working closely with both hardware and software teams to help ensure high-quality solutions for electric vehicle platforms.
What you will do
- Architecture
- Analyze vehicle target architecture and related systems.
- Develop test cases and contribute to requirements by working with system components.
- Read and interpret hardware schematic diagrams to create I/O-focused test cases.
- Tools and test development
- Create test cases and sequence diagrams based on requirements.
- Validate test cases on labcar or vehicle using CAN testing devices such as PEAK, Vector, or similar tools.
- Debug embedded system issues at both hardware and software levels.
- Develop and maintain automated testing processes.
- Use oscilloscopes and diagnostic equipment for testing and troubleshooting.
- Requirement mapping and collaboration
- Translate requirements, user stories, and operational theories into system-level test cases.
- Identify and write test cases using knowledge of E/E principles and specific product use cases.
- Coordinate with Design Responsible Engineers (DRE) and feature owners to meet project milestones.
- Work closely with design and development engineers to address testing needs at all stages.
- Partner with engineering teams to deliver effective Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing solutions, supporting hardware and firmware quality throughout the lifecycle.
