Our commitment to safety is unwavering. We are searching for a dedicated and skilled safety or systems engineer to lead the development and execution of vital safety framework methodologies that guide our driverless autonomy readiness. This is a remarkable opportunity to influence how Waabi quantitatively guarantees and validates the safety of our autonomous trucking solutions, utilizing our sophisticated simulator, real-world data, and innovative generative AI techniques. You will be integral in creating robust evidence for safe operations and spearheading initiatives in this dynamic and groundbreaking sector.

Key Responsibilities:
- Scale and manage safety framework methodologies by establishing requirements for automated assessment workflows and collaborating with the autonomy and algorithms teams to implement and troubleshoot the evaluation infrastructure.
- Develop and monitor quantitative metrics to assess system performance against defined safety targets.
- Enhance test coverage within Waabi’s high-fidelity simulator to validate driving behaviors in safety-critical scenarios.
- Define and refine human performance benchmarks to support comprehensive comparative safety assessments.
- Identify safety gaps and ensure traceability between requirements, validation artifacts, and safety case claims.
- Maintain thorough documentation of safety artifacts and readiness decisions to ensure rigorous transparency and traceability.
- Mentor colleagues to promote technical excellence and facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration.
