LaBella Associates is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our Buffalo, NY office. Our Structures Discipline specializes in providing exceptional structural engineering services focused on new designs, repair, and rehabilitation of existing structures, along with thorough investigations and performance evaluations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of structural engineers, designers, and technicians in producing comprehensive structural construction documents, including drawings, specifications, bidding documents, and construction administration for large, complex projects, while overseeing calculation and document reviews.
  • Design cost-effective system layouts and perform necessary calculations while coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
  • Conduct site visits for documentation and cost estimation of existing systems and building conditions.
  • Draft and prepare technical specifications.
  • Review and assess shop drawings and product submittals.
  • Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with project specifications and progress.
  • Manage project budgets including hours and resources effectively.
  • Maintain strong client relationships to ensure project satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports.
  • Engage in complex and specialized design tasks.
  • Stay current with technical advancements in the field and share insights with colleagues.
  • Collaborate closely with regional managers to manage workload allocation and assist in the preparation of business proposals for new projects.
