About the job
About Fluidstack
Fluidstack is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge infrastructure designed for the next era of intelligence. Our collaborations with premier AI laboratories, government entities, and industry leaders—including Mistral, Poolside, Black Forest Labs, and Meta—enable us to deliver computational power at unprecedented speeds.
We are driven by a sense of urgency to bring Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) to fruition. Our passionate team is dedicated to creating world-class infrastructure, treating our clients' success as our own. If you have a strong sense of purpose, a relentless pursuit of excellence, and are eager to contribute to the acceleration of intelligence, we invite you to be part of our journey in shaping the future.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior / Staff Network Security Engineer to lead our security strategy and protect our rapidly expanding cloud platform. In this role, you will design and implement robust security measures focused on the network perimeter, ensuring that our services are secure, resilient, and dependable on a large scale. You will operate in a high-throughput environment, safeguarding our infrastructure while fostering trust throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of in-depth knowledge of contemporary cloud and network architectures and be passionate about nurturing a security-first culture through mentorship and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Perimeter & Edge Security Design: Develop and implement robust protections at the network edge, including perimeter firewalls, proxy layers, Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), and CDN-based controls to secure Fluidstack’s global presence. Every ingress point and service should be fortified against unauthorized access and potential threats.
DDoS Resilience: Establish and manage sophisticated DDoS defense strategies that guarantee service uptime. Continuously assess traffic patterns, refine defenses such as rate limiting and traffic filtering, and respond swiftly to volumetric spikes or unusual activities.
Zero-Trust Implementation: Spearhead the adoption of a Zero-Trust framework across Fluidstack’s cloud and network environments. Design solutions that enforce least privilege access, continuous verification, and service micro-segmentation, thereby eliminating implicit trust at every level.
Monitoring & Incident Response: Establish a comprehensive network security monitoring system to detect threats early. Identify indicators of compromise, seek out vulnerabilities, and coordinate rapid incident response efforts to minimize impact.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Networking, Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)/DevOps, and Software Engineering teams to integrate security best practices into design and operational workflows.
