What we seek:A minimum of 8 years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role, with proficiency in at least one of the following domains:Big data engineering (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka)Data Warehousing & ETL (e.g., SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS)Data Science and Machine Learning (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, HPO)Data Applications (e.g., Logs Analysis, Threat Detection, Real-time Systems Monitoring, Risk Analysis, etc.)Experience in translating customer business needs into technological solutions, gaining buy-in from key stakeholders at every business level. Proven track record in designing, architecting, and presenting data systems for clients, as well as managing the delivery of those data architecture solutions. Strong SQL and database technology skills. Debugging and development experience in relevant technologies.

Join Databricks as a Senior Solutions Architect within our Field Engineering organization, where you will collaborate with customers to craft scalable data architectures utilizing Databricks technologies and services. Your technical expertise and business acumen will empower you to facilitate complex technology discussions that highlight the benefits of the Databricks platform throughout the sales process. Working alongside our Account Executives, you will engage with technical leaders, including architects, engineers, and operations teams, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor to drive meaningful outcomes. You will also liaise with teams across Databricks and our executive leadership to advocate for customer needs, nurture valuable engagements, and report back to the Field Engineering Manager.

The impact you will have:

  • Collaborate with Sales and key partners to formulate account strategies aimed at increasing platform adoption among your assigned accounts.
  • Establish the Databricks Lakehouse architecture as the go-to data architecture for clients through exemplary technical account planning.
  • Create and present reference architectures and demo applications to potential clients, demonstrating how Databricks can help them achieve their objectives, thereby attracting new users and use cases.
  • Secure technical wins by advising on big data architectures, data engineering pipelines, and data science/machine learning initiatives; validate the Databricks technology for critical customer projects and ensure seamless integration with cloud services and other third-party applications.
  • Become a specialist and advocate for Databricks-inspired open-source projects (such as Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Koalas) in developer communities via meetups, conferences, and webinars.
