About the job
About Ditto
Ditto builds technology that keeps data moving reliably at the edge, even when networks are unreliable or disconnected. Developers use Ditto’s peer-to-peer synchronization engine to power real-time applications in places like stadiums, airplanes, and remote military bases. The platform ensures continuous connectivity and data integrity without needing an internet connection.
With over $145 million in funding, Ditto supports organizations such as Chick-fil-A, Delta Airlines, and the U. S. military. The company’s software is used in aviation, retail, travel, hospitality, and defense for mission-critical operations. Ditto is a growing startup that values diversity and inclusion, bringing together many perspectives to solve tough connectivity challenges.
Role Overview: Senior Software Engineer, Platform FDE
This Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) position sits at the intersection of engineering and customer success. FDEs work directly with key users, helping them integrate Ditto’s software into their operational environments and accelerating the time-to-value for their teams.
In this role, expect to observe how Ditto’s technology performs in the field, relay technical feedback and feature needs to the core product team, and address complex problems as they arise. The work often involves ambiguity and high-pressure situations, so adaptability and creative problem-solving are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the Core Aggregation Node: Lead the architecture, deployment, and configuration of Ditto’s central data hub within SOCOM’s secure, distributed cloud infrastructure.
- Architect and Manage GovCloud Infrastructure: Set up, secure, and maintain production workloads on AWS GovCloud at high impact levels, meeting strict security and accreditation requirements.
- Deploy and Maintain Container Orchestration: Manage the lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters (including RKE2/K3s) in both cloud and on-premise settings. Responsibilities include upgrades, scaling, monitoring, and incident response.
- Engineer Secure Cross-Domain Data Flows: Design and troubleshoot data synchronization pipelines that use Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and data diodes, ensuring secure, policy-compliant, unidirectional data transfer between classification levels.
