Qualifications

You will:Design, implement, and validate cutting-edge control and estimation algorithms to ensure the safety and comfort of the Waymo Driver. Develop mission-critical C++ software for on-vehicle applications ensuring reliable autonomous vehicle control. Create tools in Python and C++ for simulating and analyzing vehicle performance. Derive actionable insights from complex field data and simulations, effectively communicating high-impact results to various stakeholders. Foster cross-functional innovation by reviewing motion planning designs and defining safety requirements while leading rapid prototyping efforts. You have:A degree in Engineering with a focus on Control or Estimation, or equivalent hands-on experience. Over 4 years of experience implementing production-grade automotive control algorithms in C++, ideally within the context of autonomous systems or advanced ADAS. A profound understanding of vehicle dynamics and control systems. Outstanding communication abilities, capable of conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. We prefer:Advanced Python and/or SQL proficiency for data-driven development. Experience in hardware-in-the-loop testing.

Our Hardware Engineering team is a dynamic collective of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software, and vehicle engineers. We are committed to designing, constructing, and refining the components that serve as the eyes and ears of our autonomous driving technology, integrating these innovations into various vehicle platforms. We are in search of inquisitive and skilled individuals to help us drive innovation forward.

This position operates under a hybrid work arrangement and reports directly to the Technical Lead & Manager of Motion Control.
