Location and Benefits
This role adopts a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days per week onsite at our centrally located New York City office, conveniently near Grand Central Station. Our office is fully equipped with robots for demonstrations and testing! Additionally, this role will involve approximately 4 days per month at our Glen Cove robotics facility.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Infrastructure & Developer Tooling to spearhead the development and scaling of our core infrastructure and internal tools that facilitate our robot deployment and development lifecycle. This pivotal role merges distributed systems, DevOps, and developer experience to enhance mission-critical robotics operations. You will take on the role of technical lead for infrastructure initiatives and potentially manage 1-2 engineers, with room to expand into a broader leadership position as the team grows.
You will be responsible for key initiatives that guarantee secure deployment, monitoring, and updating of our robots at scale, while also enabling efficient and reliable development across the engineering organization. This is a unique chance to influence the foundational systems of a dynamic robotics company from the ground up.
In this role, you will:
- Lead Infrastructure Development:
- Design and implement scalable infrastructure for robot deployment pipelines.
- Build and maintain systems for automated robot software updates and provisioning.
- Develop robust CI/CD pipelines and environment management workflows.
- Scale our multi-cloud infrastructure with a focus on:
- Robot fleet management and telemetry.
- Secure robot-cloud communication.
- Cloud resource cost efficiency and availability.
- Own Observability and Reliability: Implement and enhance observability systems to:
- Monitor robot fleet health, uptime, and usage.
- Track system performance and reliability metrics.
