Role overview The Production Cook / Mixer Operator position is based at 815 W Pershing St, Chicago, IL. This role involves preparing sauces and mixes in large batches, sometimes up to 600 pounds, using a multi-batch process. Attention to quality, safety, and efficiency is essential, and the operator is responsible for each recipe from staging through completion. High efficiency is expected after the training period. Main responsibilities Prepare food components, sauces, and batch mixes by following approved formulas and production schedules. Accurately scale and measure large quantities of raw ingredients. Operate cooking and mixing equipment safely and efficiently, including kettles, tilt skillets, ovens, tumblers, manca mixers, stand blenders, and kettle pumps. Ensure every recipe meets Tovala's quality standards. Take full ownership of assigned recipes from start to finish. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and sanitation protocols at all times. Support production operations by taking on additional duties as assigned.
