Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Robotics, or a related field, accompanied by over 5 years of pertinent experience. Proficiency in Advanced Frameworks for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling environments, including the development of new scenarios and models, C++ plugins for AFSIM, JSE interfaces, and management of large-scale simulation test data. Hands-on experience with model-in-the-loop (MIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL), digital twin, and/or LVC testing of cutting-edge AI and autonomy software technologies. Familiarity with C/C++, Python, and related high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure utilized for extensive distributed simulation environments. Experience with software technologies pertinent to Robotics, Machine Learning, and/or Multi-agent AI/Autonomy Systems. Expertise in modern software development methodologies and tools, including Agile, git/GitLab/GitHub, Confluence/Jira, CI/CD, and automated testing practices. Preferred Qualifications:A proven track record of successfully leading small teams in the implementation of advanced AI and Autonomy software technologies, coupled with effective technical communication skills. Familiarity with U. S. Government Department of Defense mission data systems and datalink architectures, such as JSE, OMS, UMAA, FACE, DDS, ROS, STANAG 4586, J-Series.

Join SSCI as a Senior Software Engineer II focused on AI and Autonomy systems development, where you will play a pivotal role in modeling and simulation (M+S) and software testing of intricate autonomy systems under realistic operational conditions. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in creating and enhancing sophisticated M+S infrastructures for the assessment and evaluation of AI and Autonomy-enabled systems across various domains.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop advanced M+S infrastructure, facilitating the testing of multi-vehicle autonomy in operational settings.
  • Collaborate within a team to design, implement, simulate, and evaluate autonomy software systems tailored for uncrewed, multi-vehicle systems.
  • Present technical data and information effectively to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Occasional travel (up to 10%) may be required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and sustain a United States Secret Security Clearance.
