ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE
Are you excited to leverage your technical expertise to tackle real-world challenges and drive impactful change? Do you excel in environments that offer ownership, creative freedom, and complex problem-solving opportunities? If so, we invite you to join our Field Systems Engineering team at Zipline, where your contributions directly enhance lives every day.
Since its inception in Rwanda in 2016, Zipline’s long-range drone platform has been making strides with a fixed-wing design capable of flying over 200 km on a single charge, ensuring fast and reliable delivery of critical medical supplies to remote areas. From assisting new mothers in Rwanda to saving snake bite victims in Ghana, our technology has already transformed millions of lives across Africa, delivering thousands of life-saving products daily.
The Field Systems Engineering (FSE) team operates at the nexus of Engineering and Operations. We ensure that the equipment we design is safe, robust, and reliable—because lives depend on it. As a Field Systems Engineer focusing on Software, you will be pivotal in optimizing the performance and reliability of our long-range drone systems.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineers and flight operators to identify friction points in how our software supports daily operations for our Platform 1 vehicle, which is currently in use worldwide. You will lead anomaly investigations, define data-driven requirements, and spearhead improvement projects to enhance system reliability and user experience.
