We are on the lookout for exceptional database engineers to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, code, and test the core components of our PostgreSQL-based database. Our focus is on building a scalable, reliable, robust, user-friendly, secure, and high-performance database. Strong systems-building experience and expertise in C are essential, along with a solid understanding of query optimization and database systems. Ideally, you will have existing PostgreSQL expertise or demonstrate a keen interest and aptitude to become an expert.
This position is fully remote and full-time.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute significantly to the design and development of new database capabilities, including analytics, clustering, distributed operations, query, and storage optimizations.
Develop, test, and launch new features and functionalities from our database technical roadmap.
Continuously enhance, optimize, and test the existing features of TimescaleDB.
Enhance infrastructure for evaluating and testing database correctness and performance.
Collaborate closely with our Cloud Engineering team to deliver a world-class experience for our Tiger Data customers.
Provide high-level technical support to valued customers, gaining insights into their needs and experiences.
Be a collaborative and approachable teammate, engaging in code reviews and supporting fellow engineers.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
5+ years of engineering experience.
Proven expertise in building industrial-strength software in C/C++ for large codebases.
Experience with PostgreSQL internal development is highly desirable but not a strict requirement.
Strong understanding of SQL, query processing, database engines, concurrency control, data replication, and/or distributed systems.
A genuine passion for building exceptional database solutions.
