The Commerce Platform team is the powerhouse that transforms this network into a viable business. We develop the essential tools and integrations that our partners rely on to operate seamlessly with Zipline, mastering the marketplace logic that aligns demand with supply, and establishing the financial architecture that guarantees accurate transactions and traceable funds. This platform is designed for scalability across metropolitan areas, countries, and diverse sectors such as restaurants, retail, and healthcare, managing millions of orders daily.
Your Responsibilities
You will be responsible for software across the entire commercial stack, which includes:
- Merchant Portal - the web interface partners utilize for daily management of their Zipline business.
- Partner Integrations - POS connectors, API integrations, and data feeds linking merchant systems to the Zipline platform.
- Marketplace Platform - internal tools that govern how demand is prioritized, priced, and allocated across our network.
- Billing Engine - the financial infrastructure managing payments, commissions, settlements, and revenue streams within the marketplace.
- Fulfillment Apps - mobile and cloud applications facilitating picking and loading operations at partner locations.
- Customer Support Tooling - AI-driven support systems integrated with order, delivery, and billing processes.
- Serviceability & Coverage Tools - internal platforms to analyze and model the reach of Zipline's services.
Engaging Challenges and Ownership
In contrast to many software roles that focus on optimizing isolated components, the Commerce Platform encompasses diverse areas including consumer products, marketplace logic, partner tools, fulfillment processes, and financial systems.
You'll tackle challenges such as:
- How can we provide merchant partners with real-time operational insights, seamless onboarding, and financial transparency while maintaining a cohesive system across verticals?
- How do we create marketplace policy controls that enable operators to adjust pricing, capacity allocation, and prioritization safely, with opportunities for experimentation prior to deployment?
- How do we develop a billing engine that accurately tracks every dollar from customer charges to partner payouts, accommodating promotions, refunds, revenue sharing, and multi-jurisdiction taxation?
- How do we implement AI-driven customer support capable of proactive actions, such as issuing refunds and applying credits, while communicating effectively about delays?
