What is it like to work at Sequence?
At Sequence, you'll be part of a small team with significant opportunities for impact and ownership. You will engage in meaningful work, connect directly with customers, and grow with the company.
If you're ready to do the best work of your career at a rapidly scaling company, we would be thrilled to meet you.
The Role
We are seeking skilled software engineers with robust backend and cloud infrastructure experience to develop and enhance the systems that drive billing for contemporary B2B companies.
You will take ownership of infrastructure critical to our revenue stream, where precision is paramount and downtime is not an option. Our usage events platform processes each merchant action that influences customer billing, making it one of our most vital systems. You will contribute to the evolution of this platform to accommodate exponential growth while ensuring impeccable accuracy.
This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage where you can make significant architectural decisions while having real customers relying on your work. You'll design systems that manage high-velocity event streams, make technical choices that optimize cost and performance at scale, and establish infrastructure that prioritizes reliability.
What You'll Do:
Own critical event infrastructure. You'll develop systems that process customer usage data essential for billing and invoicing, designing event streaming pipelines that manage high throughput with minimal latency, and building robust systems where data accuracy is non-negotiable and uptime is measured in nines.
