The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer within the Front-office Engineering team at Man Numeric, you will collaborate closely with Quantitative Researchers and Portfolio Managers. You will face a diverse range of challenges, including integrating new datasets, implementing innovative trading signals, developing portfolio optimization tools, constructing data visualization frameworks, enhancing our research platform, and optimizing the performance of existing code through efficient numerical algorithms and cluster-computing solutions.
Our Technology
Our technology stack predominantly operates on Linux, with most of our development taking place in Python, utilizing the complete scientific stack including NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, statsmodels, and scikit-learn among others. Java is employed for systems requiring high data throughput. We rely heavily on MongoDB and MS SQL for data storage.
We utilize Control-M and Airflow for workflow management, Kafka for data pipelines, Bitbucket for source control, Jenkins for continuous integration, Grafana + Prometheus for metrics collection, ELK for log shipping and monitoring, Docker for containerization, OpenStack for our private cloud, Ansible for architecture automation, and Slack for internal communications. Our technology landscape is dynamic; we continuously assess new tools and libraries.
