About the job

THE POSITION
Join our innovative team at FanDuel, where we have an exciting opportunity for you!

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Risk Management Automation team, you will play a pivotal role within a dynamic, cross-functional agile team that drives significant business impact. Collaborating closely with your teammates, you will develop and implement high-quality, creative solutions, define project scopes and timelines, and balance the priorities of stakeholders with engineering needs. Your dedication to delivering exceptional software will ensure you take pride and ownership in the testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the products we create. At FanDuel, our engineers are responsible for every aspect of the software delivery lifecycle.

You will engage directly with our risk managers to enhance our major automated risk management platforms, establishing yourself as a domain expert in automated risk implementation and its integration into the broader Risk and Trading ecosystem. Beyond traditional software development, you will be expected to proactively identify opportunities for innovation within the risk automation space, leveraging technology to drive improvements. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to ensure operational flexibility and to meet the evolving demands of our business.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has an essential role to play.

As a significant and autonomous contributor, your work will consistently exemplify high quality. You will tackle complex challenges using appropriate technologies and best practices. Collaboratively with your team, you will design and build software that is robust and efficient. You possess proficiency in a variety of design approaches, knowing when to apply them effectively. Your solutions will be pragmatic, considering the long-term impact of the code you produce while ensuring clarity for future developers. You will strive to avoid short-term fixes, creating flexible software without unnecessary complexity. Moreover, you will make judicious trade-offs, promoting reuse where feasible, and being mindful of introducing dependencies. You will also demonstrate efficiency in resource utilization (e.g., system hardware, database, memory/CPU, etc.).

We are eager to welcome engineers who are ready to engage in technical discussions, contribute to solution design and implementation, mentor junior engineers through pair programming, and drive continuous improvements across our technology landscape.
