Your Role
As a Senior RF Systems Engineer, you will take on a pivotal role as a technical leader in the development and validation of RF products at SimpliSafe. Your expertise will guide the design and implementation of our RF capabilities, ensuring we achieve industry-leading wireless connectivity. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to select chipsets and optimize mechanical and electrical designs for optimal RF performance. Additionally, you will lead and mentor our ODM design partners through the design, testing, and qualification phases of new products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and monitor performance metrics for all wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE, Radar, and Sub-GHz), ensuring alignment with product specifications.
- Develop SimpliSafe’s RF testing capabilities, including test plans and equipment selection.
- Oversee and evaluate ODM design partners throughout testing and qualification, scrutinizing their test reports to ensure comprehensive coverage of all scenarios.
- Characterize wireless chipsets and antenna systems to validate vendor claims and assess compatibility with SimpliSafe's hardware constraints.
- Serve as the RF consultant for Electrical and Mechanical teams, ensuring board layouts and enclosures maintain RF integrity.
- Review product requirement documents (PRDs) for RF-related considerations.
