RESPONSIBILITIES:Simulate and model communication systems for optimal performance. Collaborate with system architects, RF engineers, antenna engineers, and modem/DSP engineers to define hardware and software functions. Evaluate design feasibility to support architectural definitions. Develop top-level specifications for RF links and RF and antenna subsystems. Characterize and analyze system performance metrics. Provide technical assistance to regulatory, coordination, and market access teams. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering discipline.5+ years of experience in RF/microwave circuit design within research or industry settings.1+ years of experience with 3D EM simulation tools (CST, HFSS, FEKO, SEMCAD, EMPro, TICRA, or XFDTD). PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Master’s degree in a relevant field.

SENIOR RF/MICROWAVE ENGINEER, SATELLITES (STARLINK)

At SpaceX, we are utilizing our extensive experience in rocket and spacecraft engineering to deploy Starlink, the world’s most sophisticated broadband internet service. As the largest satellite constellation globally, Starlink provides fast and reliable internet access to millions. Our team is responsible for designing, building, testing, and operating all components of this groundbreaking system, from thousands of satellites to consumer receivers and the integrated software.

As a member of our Satellite Payload Engineering team, you will focus on developing RF devices that power our satellites and ground antennas, including power amplifiers, waveguide components, reflectors, and antennas. The ideal candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to creating high-performance wireless digital communication systems, from the antenna to the protocol level. Your role will involve the design, implementation, and verification of electrical hardware for both satellites and ground communication systems.
