Key Responsibilities:Design and deploy advanced localization and mapping systems tailored for production robotic platforms. Develop real-time SLAM, state estimation, and sensor fusion algorithms adhering to strict latency and reliability standards. Create and implement multi-sensor calibration processes (e.g., camera, LiDAR, IMU). Integrate localization and mapping systems with perception, planning, and control mechanisms to facilitate comprehensive autonomy. Identify, analyze, and address edge cases from real-world implementations; drive continuous enhancements of the systems. Develop scalable mapping and localization frameworks that function across fleets of robots. Establish validation, testing, and benchmarking protocols for assessing localization accuracy and system resilience. Contribute to architectural decisions to support long-term scalability and performance.

Cobot is looking for a Senior Research Engineer focused on Localization and Mapping to help advance the spatial intelligence of our robots. This role centers on designing and deploying reliable localization and mapping systems that perform consistently in unpredictable, real-world settings. Areas of work include real-time SLAM, state estimation, multi-sensor fusion, and calibration.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement localization and mapping solutions for robots operating in dynamic environments
  • Work hands-on to create systems that give robots spatial awareness and environmental understanding
  • Collaborate with teams across perception, planning, and systems engineering to deliver production-ready autonomy features
  • Contribute directly to how Cobot’s robots perceive, navigate, and interact in the world

Relocation
