Qualifications

Possess a RICS accredited degree in Quantity Surveying. Ideally chartered or in the process of achieving chartered status. Familiarity with contemporary contract forms (e.g., JCT, NEC). Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of specialized construction IT systems such as CATO, CostX, and Microsoft Project. Exhibit a comprehensive range of core Quantity Surveying skills demonstrated through successful project delivery across various sectors. Commit to ongoing learning and development in line with RICS standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Work:

  • Perform a diverse range of pre and post-contract responsibilities, consistently implementing best practices including but not limited to:
  • Cost planning and estimation, encompassing life cycle costing, value management, and engineering.
  • Developing tender and contract documentation, including detailed bills of quantities.
  • Managing contract administration.
  • Overseeing post-contract cost management.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with T&A policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Act as a representative for T&A in the marketplace.
  • Uphold T&A's professional values and standards in all interactions.
  • Facilitate timely task implementation and project requirements to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Ensure effective communication channels are established, both internally and externally, to support successful project execution.
  • Compile and prepare information to assist the Client, actively seeking and responding to their needs.

General Duties:

  • Represent T&A with professionalism and integrity, maintaining high service quality standards.
  • Provide timely reporting to clients and stakeholders as per their requirements and company standards.
  • Support business development initiatives through networking.
  • Contribute to maintaining and enhancing company culture.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities.
  • Comply with all T&A policies including the use of the Document Management System.

Client Experience:

The Quantity Surveyor will cultivate robust professional relationships with colleagues, clients, consultants, and contractors, based on mutual respect and integrity. This will involve:

  • Representing T&A at project meetings with clients, designers, and contractors to provide comprehensive advice on all aspects of project work, and following up on actions assigned to T&A.
  • Communicating clearly and effectively with all parties regarding necessary information for service delivery.
