We are looking to hire a Senior Project Engineering Consultant with extensive Process Engineering expertise to lead project-based engineering initiatives and achieve specified technical and execution goals for significant projects. This position will primarily operate from Assala Energy's headquarters in London, with occasional travel to Gabon as necessary to meet project requirements.

This role represents a consultancy engagement focused on defined scopes of work, milestones, and deliverables.

Scope of Services & Key Deliverables

The Consultant will provide independent professional services essential for the successful execution of major oil and gas projects, including but not limited to:

  • Overseeing the delivery of a defined portfolio of complex capital projects across multiple assets, ensuring alignment with technical, commercial, and scheduling objectives.
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary engineering contributions to support project execution while excluding line-management responsibilities for Assala Energy personnel.
  • Conducting feasibility studies, concept selection, pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed engineering activities, including the development of the Basis of Design, project philosophies, and technical specifications.
  • Performing technical reviews, checks, and acceptance of process engineering deliverables from external engineering firms, ensuring compliance with relevant international standards and codes.
  • Preparing cost estimates, execution strategies, and project plans for all project phases, with well-defined assumptions, risks, and contingencies.
  • Providing advisory support to Assala Energy on resource planning, including identifying specialist skills necessary for timely project completion.
  • Monitoring and controlling project performance against established scope, schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks, promptly recognizing risks and potential delivery impacts.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and changes, offering clear recommendations to inform decision-making.
  • Engaging with external vendors and contractors, conducting technical evaluations, supporting commercial negotiations, and providing advisory input for procurement decisions.
  • Reviewing and approving engineering design alterations and technical deviations in accordance with project governance.
