About the Role:
As a pivotal element of Confluent, Cluster Linking facilitates the replication of Kafka clusters. Whether it's a global bank ensuring zero-data-loss disaster recovery, an enterprise transferring petabytes from open-source Kafka, or a multinational corporation replicating event streams across continents, Cluster Linking is at the heart of their operations.
In this role, you will shape the future of Cluster Linking by enhancing disaster recovery solutions for Kafka workloads, developing self-service migration pathways to Confluent Cloud, and facilitating data sharing across organizations to support real-time operational data exchanges.
Cluster Linking is one of our most rapidly growing platform products, and you will lead its expansion. Our largest clients rely on this service, and your contributions will resonate across Kafka, cloud infrastructure, networking, and security, granting you significant visibility and influence throughout the organization.
What You Will Do:
Spearhead the launch and user adoption of our one-click disaster recovery initiative, transforming it from a manual process into a streamlined, productized experience that customers can easily embrace.
Define the future of real-time stream sharing across organizations, focusing on security models, networking, access controls, and scalability to meet diverse use cases.
Develop solutions that enable customers to migrate to Confluent with just a few clicks or API calls, establishing the migration process as a compelling reason to choose Confluent.
Segment and optimize the packaging of Cluster Linking to cater to varying customer needs across disaster recovery, migrations, data sharing, and cross-cloud replication, ensuring alignment with pricing strategies that drive growth.
Collaborate closely with your engineering manager counterpart to navigate trade-offs and make informed decisions that enhance product offerings.
