Embracing a hybrid work model, Sentry has designated Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays as in-office days to foster collaboration and creativity. If you’re eager to create solutions that enhance digital experiences, we invite you to help us develop the next generation of software monitoring tools.

Your Role

We are on the lookout for a Senior Product Designer to take charge of our design system. This includes developing shared components, patterns, and guidelines that ensure our product remains consistent, accessible, and efficient.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with product designers and front-end engineers to design, specify, and refine components of our design system, known as Scraps. You will need to contemplate how a select menu functions across various contexts, structure a form system for adaptability and uniformity, and streamline multiple button patterns into a single effective design.

This position is distinct from typical product design roles; rather than designing entire features, you will focus on crafting the foundational blocks that enhance product functionality. You will audit existing patterns, pinpoint inconsistencies, establish usage guidelines, and create comprehensive documentation and Figma libraries to empower designers and engineers alike.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee component libraries, variables, and styles that shape Sentry's design language, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and alignment with coded implementations.

  • Collaborate with design engineers to specify new components, enhance existing ones, and guarantee that design intent is seamlessly integrated into implementation.

  • Conduct audits of the product for pattern inconsistencies and drive consolidation, providing clear guidance on component usage.

  • Develop and maintain documentation, usage guidelines, and Storybook narratives to assist designers and engineers in utilizing the system effectively.

  • Create shared tools like linters and design tokens to facilitate a cohesive design workflow.

About Sentry
