The Opportunity

At Superhuman, we are crafting the future of productivity with AI as a true collaborator rather than a mere tool. Following the acquisition of Coda, we are merging flexible documentation, powerful building blocks, and advanced AI to create a platform tailored for the evolution of work.

In this pivotal role, you will define an AI-first, agentic future for Coda, influencing core user experiences within the product. Your responsibility will include designing how intelligent agents function within Coda: their proactive actions, guidance requests, and user interactions to ensure clarity and control. Your mission is to simplify complex capabilities, making them feel intuitive and trustworthy through thoughtful interaction design and robust product instincts.

This senior position is ideal for a designer who excels in systems thinking, thrives in ambiguous situations, and possesses a keen understanding of how AI can significantly enhance human productivity. You will be instrumental in transforming Coda from a powerful document tool into a dynamic workspace, where agents assist users in planning, reasoning, synthesizing, and executing tasks while maintaining usability, trust, and craftsmanship. Collaboration with product managers, engineers, and researchers will be essential as you invent new interaction models, deliver production-ready AI experiences, and elevate standards for AI-native productivity solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Design agentic document experiences, defining the behavior of AI agents within Coda—when they take proactive actions, seek guidance, and how users can understand and influence their behavior.
  • Demystify complex systems by translating intricate AI behaviors—such as reasoning, memory, and automation—into user-friendly interactions.
