The ideal candidate will have a robust background in controls systems engineering, with expertise in designing and implementing control algorithms for complex systems. A strong understanding of systems dynamics, simulation, and real-time processing is required. Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a team environment, and strong communication skills. A secret clearance is mandatory for this position. Familiarity with aerospace applications and software tools used in controls engineering will be beneficial.

The Space Systems team has contributed to over 1,700 missions, encompassing interplanetary exploration, in-space manufacturing, and national security projects. We have collaborated with partners like NASA, the Space Development Agency, and the U. S. Space Force, constructing spacecraft, payloads, and components for missions to the Moon and Mars. Whether it’s a single high-performance spacecraft or a constellation of satellites, our world-class Space Systems team empowers some of the most ambitious space missions.

SENIOR/PRINCIPAL CONTROLS SYSTEMS ENGINEER – SECRET CLEARANCE

Rocket Lab’s Optical Systems division addresses mission-critical challenges in the space domain, as well as Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) needs for the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) clients.
