About the Role
Join our dynamic team at Silver as a Senior Platform Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a crucial link between development requirements and a robust, secure infrastructure, tackling existing bottlenecks in execution efficiency, code reviews, and approvals.
With a focus on product development, you will be tasked with creating and maintaining the foundational hardware and software layers utilized by our engineers and scientists. Your collaborative approach and in-depth understanding of production systems will be essential as we expand our platform team to accelerate development processes and allow all teams to concentrate on their core competencies.
Key Responsibilities
Define the vision and goals of the infrastructure team in partnership with the CTO, actively shaping our strategic direction.
Enhance execution and review capabilities by writing code, conducting design documentation, and performing code reviews, significantly impacting platform project delivery.
Develop internal tools that empower teams to operate independently.
Lead architectural advancements by identifying and addressing critical issues to enhance system performance and scalability.
Provide ongoing support to all teams, helping to meet their infrastructure needs and boost productivity.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience with large-scale production systems, managing high-traffic, mission-critical environments, and resolving performance issues to ensure optimal stability and reliability.
In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), particularly with Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform.
A security-first approach, with expertise in security best practices, penetration testing, credential management, and threat modeling.
Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and the ability to implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
Proactive problem solver with a robust sense of ownership for production code.
Comprehensive understanding of engineering and infrastructure best practices.
