To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred. At least 7 years of experience in the design and development of rotating equipment. Expertise in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools. In-depth knowledge of engineering calculations including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and rotordynamics. Strong foundation in vibration analysis, lubrication, bearing systems, mechanical seals, and condition monitoring techniques. Experience with materials selection and manufacturing processes. Proficient in representing the rotating team in Design FMEA and HAZOP reviews. Exceptional communication and teamwork skills. Analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to rotating equipment. Ability to function as the Lead Engineer on projects, making technical decisions and potentially overseeing a small team of engineers.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Rotating Equipment, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of cutting-edge mechanical systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Innovative Design: Develop and create advanced mechanical designs for various products, components, and systems utilizing CAD software and adhering to engineering best practices.
  • Feasibility Studies: Assess the viability of design proposals by considering cost, manufacturing constraints, and material characteristics.
  • Material Selection: Choose suitable materials for mechanical systems based on their strength, weight, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Engineering Calculations: Conduct intricate calculations, including stress, thermal, and rotordynamics analyses to ensure the reliability and safety of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborative Engineering: Partner with engineers, technicians, and manufacturing teams to guarantee that designs are practical and fulfill project specifications.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers and site maintenance teams.
  • Failure Analysis: Lead root cause analysis investigations and propose corrective measures.
  • Technical Support: Offer assistance during the installation, commissioning, and startup of rotating equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain precise design documentation, specifications, and reports; communicate design ideas and technical details effectively to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance the design process.
