Essential QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.10+ years of experience in a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) or integrated design firm, focusing on commercial/public projects, specifically in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for complex projects. A minimum of 5 years of design experience related to data centers. Demonstrated expertise as a Mechanical Engineer in designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for intricate projects. Comprehensive understanding of the design and construction processes, with the ability to effectively communicate with professionals from various disciplines. Proficient in Building Information Modeling (BIM), particularly with Autodesk Revit MEP workflows. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

DLR Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in mission-critical projects, particularly within data centers.

Position Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the design, coordination, and execution of mechanical systems for high-performance, complex facilities, including data centers, laboratories, clean rooms, and critical infrastructure. This position requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to devise innovative, efficient, and scalable HVAC and cooling solutions that satisfy stringent reliability and redundancy standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and clients throughout our integrated design process.
  • Generate and coordinate design documents utilizing Revit.
  • Conduct mechanical/HVAC calculations and perform code research.
  • Execute plumbing/fire protection calculations and conduct relevant code research.
  • Draft and review technical specifications.
  • Evaluate shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and submittals.
  • Conduct site assessments as required.
  • Lead mechanical project teams and/or interdisciplinary project teams.
