POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Materials and Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in the conception and evolution of various quantum products. This includes developing and testing specialized processes such as glass substrate processing, bonding of glass and dissimilar materials, silicon wafer processing and testing, thin film characterization, laser processing, and electrical integration. The engineer will work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team comprised of physicists, engineers, technicians, and business professionals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop materials bonding and fabrication techniques for constructing vacuum cells, vapor cells, and quantum components.
- Collaborate with physicists and optical, electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to define system requirements for mechanical and optomechanical systems.
- Produce comprehensive engineering documentation, including technical drawings, mechanical assembly packages, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Support root cause analysis and failure mode investigations.
- Validate processes through the design of experiments, hands-on testing, and statistical analysis.
- Engage in additional duties or projects as assigned.
