Key Responsibilities:Lead, mentor, and develop a talented team of HPC engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence. Oversee the strategy for our hybrid HPC ecosystem, optimizing workloads between on-premise clusters and cloud resources to enhance simulation throughput and user experience. Collaborate closely with quantum physicists and application teams to identify simulation requirements, translating complex scientific needs into actionable infrastructure roadmaps. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate specialized compute instances required for our workloads. Architect and optimize job schedulers (using Slurm) to manage high-volume, spiky workloads with numerous concurrent simulation tasks. Deep dive into the technology stack to enhance I/O patterns, memory utilization, and parallelization techniques. Develop and maintain the systems that facilitate seamless job submissions for users.

We are looking for a dynamic Senior Manager of High Performance Computing to lead our team focused on the hybrid HPC computational platform that supports our physics simulations, hardware verification, and the development of quantum algorithms. In this Player-Coach role, you will manage and mentor a team of engineers while actively engaging with advanced technologies. One day, you may be recruiting a new HPC engineer, and the next, you could be troubleshooting a race condition in a Slurm scheduler or optimizing a simulation kernel for GPU efficiency. You will bridge the gap between classical supercomputing and quantum simulations, crafting the hybrid infrastructure that enables us to transcend classical physics boundaries.
