Your Impact
Are you driven to create AI products that positively influence the world? As a Machine Learning Engineer at Axon, you will help develop AI solutions that revolutionize public safety and support our core mission: to accelerate justice, uphold truth, and save lives. Collaborating closely with fellow ML engineers and scientists, you will advance AI capabilities for Axon’s diverse product line (including Fleet, Draft One, Axon Air, VR, and more) by facilitating the training, evaluation, testing, and deployment of machine learning models on both Axon devices and the cloud.
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will explore a broad spectrum of AI domains and applications, ranging from computer vision to speech recognition and natural language understanding.
What You’ll Do
Location: Hybrid from our office in San Francisco, CA.
Reports to: Manager, Machine Learning Engineering
- Work collaboratively with scientists and product managers to develop proof-of-concept projects that help shape the future of Axon.
- Design and implement secure, privacy-conscious solutions that enable the ongoing enhancement of existing AI models.
- Build platforms that speed up research and AI product development.
- Partner with scientists to architect and deploy cutting-edge training methodologies.
- Establish and maintain high standards for ethical and responsible AI development.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with a proven history of deploying AI models to the cloud.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and cloud architecture.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++, with familiarity in machine learning frameworks.
