DigitalOcean is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer in Bengaluru. This role focuses on strengthening security across both internal and customer-facing environments. The position reports to the Security Engineering Manager for the APAC region and works closely with engineering and security teams throughout the company.

Role Overview

The Senior Infrastructure Security Engineer will design and implement scalable security solutions. The work centers on identifying and resolving vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and security challenges that impact DigitalOcean’s infrastructure and users. This position contributes directly to building secure architectures and improving security instrumentation across the organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Understand DigitalOcean’s production and corporate environments, including applications and infrastructure, and stay informed on changes and future plans.
  • Work with technical teams in Security and Engineering to strengthen accounts, platforms, and services against threats such as intrusions and hijackings.
  • Develop systems for proactive risk identification, response, and mitigation in both business and customer environments.
  • Create, maintain, and encourage adoption of strong cloud security practices.
  • Oversee vulnerability management and patching for Virtual Machines, Containers, and Kubernetes infrastructure.
  • Identify and help resolve security issues and misconfigurations in cloud services, Virtual Machines, Containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Manage preventive security measures and services, including WAF, SIEM, and other security solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in security as the company grows, using data to inform decisions and ensuring security supports business efficiency.
