Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered or eligible for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EBGC) or a recognized Professional Engineering Association in Canada; P. Eng preferred.12+ years of experience in the heavy industry sector. Comprehensive understanding of industrial production challenges. Willingness to occasionally work off-site. Preferred Technical Expertise:Extensive knowledge of engineering consulting best practices in project management and execution. Experience with power system modeling, including load flow, short circuit analysis, protection coordination, and arc flash studies. Expertise in grounding studies and design. Familiarity with protection relay and VFD parameter settings. Experience with sizing, specification, and procurement of power distribution equipment. Proficient in instrumentation and control system field wiring. Skilled in 2D drafting using AutoCAD.

The Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer will take the lead in managing a diverse portfolio of multidisciplinary projects and electrical studies. We seek someone who is enthusiastic about working independently and developing strong business relationships within the local industrial sector. This position may require occasional travel to industrial sites throughout Western Canada. You may work from any of our offices located in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, or Saskatoon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all project stages from conception to completion.
  • Develop innovative technical solutions.
  • Create detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Draft equipment specifications.
  • Facilitate coordination among stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers involved in projects.
  • Provide expert technical support to clients.
  • Review proposals and make procurement recommendations.
  • Conduct site surveys.
  • Engage with current and prospective clients to bring new projects to CIMA+.
