Join Hinge Health as a Senior Health Economist and play a pivotal role in transforming musculoskeletal (MSK) care through digital health innovation. Your expertise will be essential in developing an analytical strategy that demonstrates our platform's value to leading health plans and employers across the nation. You will spearhead high-impact ROI analyses, provide mentorship to junior economists, and guide research initiatives that drive product development and market strategies. Your contributions will directly affect millions of individuals' access to healthcare and shape how payers invest in effective digital health solutions.

What You'll Achieve

Within the first 3 months:

  • Evaluate Hinge Health's current health economics portfolio and prioritize studies with the potential for significant commercial impact and competitive advantage.

  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to the Client Success and Commercial teams, influencing how ROI evidence is presented during sales discussions.

  • Lead your inaugural complex external ROI study, overseeing vendor negotiations, securing study design approvals from both internal and external stakeholders, and presenting findings.

Within the first 6 months:

  • Manage multiple health economics workstreams across various product lines (including chronic MSK, surgical interventions, and pelvic health) while balancing analytical rigor with commercial timelines.

  • Deliver polished, defensible analyses directly to external clients, including health plan executives and actuarial teams, to finalize deals and renew contracts.

  • Mentor a junior health economist, establishing best practices for study design, code reviews, and communication with clients.

  • Develop advanced analytics infrastructure, such as automated claims data pipelines within Databricks, to enhance team efficiency.

Within your first year:

  • Define Hinge Health's long-term health economics research strategy, setting publication objectives, fostering external partnerships, and innovating methodologies.

  • Lead the publication of impactful research articles in prestigious journals (e.g., JAMA, Health Affairs) to solidify Hinge Health's position as a leader in digital MSK care evidence.

  • Shape product roadmap decisions by identifying economic opportunities and designing studies to explore questions like which member segments yield the highest ROI.
