About the job

Join Escrow.com, the largest and most trusted online escrow service globally, where buyers and sellers depend on us to securely handle their funds during high-stakes transactions. Whether it's domain names, vehicles, or entire businesses, we facilitate seamless buying and selling experiences.

We are currently seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to become part of our team in Sydney.

Unlike mega-cap technology firms where your contributions may feel insignificant among thousands, and unlike startups where you may grapple with ephemeral projects devoid of mentorship, Escrow.com is the ideal middle ground. We are a right-sized organization where you can forge genuine connections with your colleagues while still having the resources to innovate without fear.

Here, you won't be just another cog in the machine. Our work revolves around engaging and complex real-world challenges that have tangible impacts. You will tackle a diverse array of global internet-scale problems, allowing you to grow your skills in a cross-functional environment.

As a member of our team, you will not only design, build, and deploy scalable features but also make a direct impact on millions of users worldwide. You'll engage in architecting web applications, writing optimized SQL for extensive data sets, structuring extensible data and application logic, and crafting high-quality APIs using a combination of open-source tools and premium commercial software.

Our technology stack includes Python-based Flask (alongside some Golang) microservices, React.js for front-end development, and traditional SQL RDBMS systems, all powered by Amazon Web Services. You have the flexibility to choose your operating system for your company laptop—most of our developers prefer Ubuntu Linux, but all options are welcome!

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • Proficiency in several web development languages, including Python, Golang, PHP, Node.js, or Ruby.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL, preferably MySQL.
  • A background or interest in scalable web engineering.
  • The ability to collaborate within an agile team environment, consistently delivering value to customers.
  • Familiarity with Linux.
  • Experience in developing SaaS products.
  • Cloud computing experience, preferably with AWS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A keen sense of ownership with the ability to self-manage.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in designing and implementing complex software systems.
  • Previous experience in mentoring or training junior developers.
