Proficient in C/C++ and adept in using scripting languages like Python for test automation and tooling. Hands-on expertise in PCIe firmware development, including LTSSM bring-up, debugging, link training, error recovery, and register-level programming. A demonstrated history of diagnosing and resolving intricate issues across firmware, hardware, and driver boundaries. Experience with hardware bring-up on new platforms and familiarity with PCIe compliance tools like protocol analyzers.

THE ROLE

As a Senior Firmware Engineer specializing in PCIe, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the future of data storage. Your expertise will be essential in designing and developing state-of-the-art firmware for our DirectFlash™ SSD Modules, with a specific focus on PCIe technologies. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative hardware while collaborating closely with our hardware and software teams to develop high-performance, resilient storage solutions that are integral to our technology.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design and implement high-performance firmware for DirectFlash™ SSD Modules, emphasizing PCIe functionality such as initialization, configuration, and runtime management.
  • Lead the bring-up and integration of new PCIe-based hardware, ensuring adherence to specifications and optimal link performance.
  • Develop and maintain essential PCIe features, including LTSSM, power management, hot-plug support, and comprehensive error handling.
  • Debug complex, system-level issues involving firmware, drivers, and hardware, while creating advanced diagnostic tools to facilitate these efforts.
  • Work closely with hardware engineering teams to integrate PCIe PHY, conduct validation, and address signal integrity concerns, ensuring seamless hardware/firmware co-design.
  • This position is primarily on-site, and you will be required to work from our Santa Clara, CA office in accordance with Pure’s policies, except during PTO, work travel, or other approved leave.
