Role overview

The Senior Factory Software Integration Engineer works closely with Volkswagen Group brands and vehicle software release teams to bring vehicle software into manufacturing environments and support new product launches. This position takes responsibility for key integration features and systems, ensuring that software is deployed to production lines on schedule and at a high level of quality. Mentoring junior engineers and driving improvements in integration and release processes are also central to this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead integration of vehicle and factory software, including flashing, commissioning, and testing systems, across assigned production lines to maintain stable operations and high-quality output.
  • Coordinate with software release leads, Volkswagen Group brand stakeholders, and engineering teams to align software content and support its rollout in manufacturing facilities.
  • Clarify complex or ambiguous integration and commissioning requirements by developing clear tasks, plans, and testing strategies tailored for factory environments.
  • Improve validation processes for software and configuration changes in both pre-production and production, working with automation teams to strengthen regression and end-to-end testing.
  • Work with manufacturing commissioning and planning teams to ensure new products and software changes scale reliably in factory settings.
  • Identify and resolve integration issues in manufacturing plants through structured root-cause analysis, collaborating with development, testing, and factory teams.
  • Collect and prioritize feedback from Volkswagen Group brands and manufacturing sites to refine and advance the software integration and release process.
