The Device Access team connects employee devices to the Okta Identity Cloud. This group develops and maintains both the native macOS application and the backend services that support it. Close collaboration across these areas helps deliver a seamless, secure experience for users throughout the organization.
Role overview
The Senior Engineering Manager leads two teams: the macOS client engineering group and the backend services group. This role sets the overall direction for Device Access, guiding both teams to deliver secure and user-friendly products. Responsibilities include defining strategy across the technology stack and supporting high-performing, cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Strategy: Define the technical vision, identify new opportunities, and establish a sustainable long-term architecture for Device Access.
- Execution: Oversee delivery of high-quality client and backend services, remove barriers, and keep teams aligned.
- Team development: Mentor engineers, manage hiring and performance, and foster a culture of excellence.
- Leadership: Collaborate with partners across functions, mediate conflicts, make tough decisions, and model a growth mindset.
