EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, specifically in hardware validation and system integration testing. Expertise in software development, particularly in embedded systems, with a strong proficiency in Python. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and automated testing methodologies. Hands-on experience with PCB design, testing, and debugging. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Emerging Tech Team, focusing on the development and validation of a quantum sensor system for space applications. This role involves close collaboration with physicists and hardware engineers to create control system code, automated tests, and CI/CD pipelines. You will also be hands-on in the lab, troubleshooting and bringing up custom PCBs and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure high test coverage by utilizing our CI pipelines and hardware test beds, instilling confidence in your designs.
  • Contribute significantly to developing control system architectures for future quantum sensors.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, and hardware design teams to define and capture system requirements.
  • Design and implement electrical test benches for seamless system integration.
  • Conduct compliance, robustness, and reliability testing for electronic subsystems.
  • Assist in board bring-up and debugging efforts, providing valuable feedback to design teams.
  • Develop and maintain an automated testing platform utilizing Python.
  • Operate and interface with a diverse array of electrical and optical lab test equipment.
  • Analyze and visualize test data, using scripting and analysis tools to derive meaningful insights.
  • Participate in Git-based software development workflows to manage and collaborate on testing software.
