To excel in this position, candidates should possess:A robust background in embedded systems and software engineering. Experience with high-performance computing and systems integration. Proficiency in programming languages relevant to embedded systems, such as C, C++, or Python. Familiarity with NVIDIA technologies, including NVQLink. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in quantum computing contexts. Excellent communication skills to liaise with diverse teams and external partners.

About the job

At Infleqtion, we are dedicated to addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges through the application of advanced quantum technology. Our goal is to bring atom-based quantum products to market, achieving exceptional enhancements in sensing and computing capabilities. We take pride in our commitment to advancing the quantum ecosystem, paving the way for significant technological breakthroughs today, as well as laying the groundwork for the innovations of tomorrow.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Hardware Engineering Team within Infleqtion’s Computing Product Group (CPG) is on the lookout for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer. In this vital role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-performance embedded and systems software that facilitates real-time quantum error correction and classical control at scale. Your work will involve the integration of NVIDIA high-speed interconnects with quantum error-correction decoding pipelines, collaborating closely with quantum software, physics, and hardware teams.

This is a senior-level individual contributor position where you will independently manage complex subsystems from start to finish within an established architecture, tackle technically challenging issues, liaise directly with external partners, and mentor junior engineers, without defining the long-term platform architecture. You will also act as the primary point of contact for subsystem hardware integration with NVIDIA’s NVQLink.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be entrusted with:

  • Independently designing, implementing, validating, and maintaining embedded and systems-level software subsystems that support real-time quantum error correction and control.
  • Translating quantum error-correction specifications (code distance, syndrome rates, latency budgets) into precise classical compute, memory, and interconnect requirements.
  • Designing systems that fulfill deterministic latency, bandwidth, and reliability criteria across CPU, GPU, FPGA, and high-speed interconnect domains.
  • Serving as the technical advisor for NVIDIA NVQLink integration, encompassing topology, bandwidth modeling, latency characterization, and failure analysis. This role involves direct collaboration with NVIDIA personnel, as well as experts from academia and U. S. national laboratories.
  • Working in close partnership with Quantum Software, Physics, Electrical, and Systems Engineering teams to co-design hardware/software interfaces.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving intricate performance, scaling, and integration challenges across firmware, drivers, operating systems (Embedded Linux/bare-metal environments), GPU runtimes, and hardware.
  • Developing and maintaining validation infrastructure, performance benchmarks, and test harnesses to ensure deterministic behavior and scaling.

About Infleqtion

Infleqtion is at the forefront of quantum technology innovation, committed to creating and commercializing groundbreaking atom-based quantum products that significantly enhance the capabilities of sensing and computing applications. We are proud to lead the quantum ecosystem, driving meaningful advancements now while shaping the technology roadmap for the future.
