Role overview
The Senior Director of Technical Program Management leads the technical program management team within GitLab’s Engineering organization. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this leader guides a group of Technical Program Managers and is responsible for shaping operational frameworks, overseeing strategic initiatives, and improving both transparency and delivery speed for complex, high-impact projects. The role covers areas such as productivity initiatives, customer-facing features, Customer Zero adoption, and security vulnerability remediation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a global team of Technical Program Managers supporting Engineering divisions including AI, Infrastructure, Data, and Product Engineering.
- Define and own the operating model for technical program management, covering team structure, hiring, and career development.
- Drive the end-to-end execution of strategic, cross-functional programs that involve infrastructure, security, product, and go-to-market teams.
