Turner & Townsend Heery is on the lookout for a highly skilled Senior Deputy Design Manager to collaborate with our team on large-scale municipal projects. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of experience from roles as a Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) or as a Construction Manager overseeing CMAR contracts, along with a strong background in leading the pre-construction and design processes.
The selected individual will provide direction and support to our Project Managers in managing CMARs and AEs throughout the design, preconstruction, construction procurement, and closeout phases for the renovation and restacking of multiple floors within the building.
*This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days on-site work each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and report directly to the assigned Project Manager(s) or Project Director, ensuring frequent communication with the Owner/Client, consultants, design professionals, and contractors.
- Assist the Project Manager(s) in managing, coordinating, and administering civil scopes throughout all phases of design and construction.
- Ensure the highest level of client service is delivered, addressing all client needs effectively.
- Prepare various project documentation including reports, schedules, invoices, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes/agendas, daily reports, change orders, inspections, closeout documents, and client presentations.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with the project team as directed by the Project Manager(s).
- Communicate conceptual civil designs and maintain project documentation throughout the construction process.
- Maintain Basis of Design, prototype designs, and template specifications for civil elements.
- Review and provide input on design RFPs.
- Manage external design consultants during the design and construction processes.
- Effectively communicate design standards to both internal and external project partners.
- Simultaneously manage multiple fast-paced projects, employing innovative solutions to reduce costs without compromising quality or reliability.
- Oversee the commissioning of electrical scopes and coordinate with the project management team to ensure successful project completion.
- Adhere to SOX control responsibilities as applicable.
