About the Role
We are in search of a seasoned Senior Data Analyst or Lead Data Analyst with extensive expertise in subscription billing analytics and robust technical proficiency in ClickHouse (with a preference for Tinybird experience). In this role, you will take ownership of analytics related to billing and payments: constructing and refining datasets and queries, defining key billing metrics, and producing dashboards that our product, finance, and operations teams depend on daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain data pipelines using Tinybird and ClickHouse to enhance dashboards and enable self-service analytics.
- Enhance ClickHouse queries to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Create and uphold primary billing metrics including gross/net revenue, refunds, chargeback rates, dispute rates, approval rates, churn, LTV, MRR/ARR, and cohort retention.
- Design and refine dashboards and visualizations for internal stakeholders including Billing, Finance, Product, Support, and Risk teams.
- Analyze anomalies and data-quality issues (such as spikes in refunds, increasing dispute rates, or drops in approval rates), conducting root-cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on data instrumentation and event tracking to ensure the integrity of billing data.
- Document logical processes (including metric definitions, table structures, and pipeline operations) and implement quality assurance measures (tests/monitoring).
Qualifications
- Mandatory strong experience in subscription billing, encompassing payments, renewals, refunds, and disputes/chargebacks.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, including complex joins, window functions, incremental logic, and performance-oriented query writing.
- Hands-on experience with ClickHouse, focusing on query optimization and data modeling for analytics tasks.
- Experience in building fundamental ETL/ELT pipelines (scheduling, incremental loads, validation, monitoring).
- Familiarity with Git workflows (pull requests, code reviews, version control of SQL/data logic).
