Qualifications

Qualifications:High school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or training is preferred. Current ACI certification for concrete is advantageous but not mandatory. Current NCOT certifications for soils, concrete, and asphalt are a plus. Training on field and office equipment used to perform tests and generate reports is necessary. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including plans, specifications, and safety rules. Strong writing skills for routine reports and correspondence. Proficiency in applying basic mathematical concepts for calculations related to field and laboratory tests.

In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Manager, leveraging your technical skills to conduct observations and tests on various construction materials related to site, road, and building projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field materials tests on soil, asphalt, and concrete under the supervision of senior engineering staff.
  • Prepare comprehensive field reports detailing test results, observations, and recommendations.
  • Review project plans and specifications prior to construction to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete, documenting the results accurately.
  • Ensure that all field and laboratory testing equipment is maintained in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain certifications as required by senior engineering personnel.
  • Assist senior engineering staff in performing geotechnical investigations.
  • Assess site conditions on construction projects and provide informed recommendations.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and senior staff regarding construction-related issues.
