NextEnergy Group is seeking a Senior Compliance and Legal Manager to strengthen our Compliance and Group Legal functions as we grow. Based in London, this role supports our global operations and investments by overseeing a broad range of regulatory, compliance, and risk matters across multiple jurisdictions. Attention to detail and a proactive approach are essential for success in this position.

Main Responsibilities

This role reports directly to the Chief Compliance and Legal Officer and is a key member of the Compliance team. Core duties include:

  • Deputy to the CCLO: Step in for the Chief Compliance and Legal Officer as needed, managing compliance and legal projects. Responsibilities include data protection, cybersecurity, and ensuring regulatory obligations are met.
  • Second Line of Defence: Oversee ESG reporting, including CSRD, CSDDD, and UK requirements. Manage the Risk Management Framework and improve record-keeping and reporting for internal committees.
  • Financial Crime Advisory: Advise on financial crime risks such as Anti-Money Laundering and terrorist financing. Support Investment Teams with KYC/AML and audit requests, and provide guidance to control functions.
  • Compliance Testing: Implement and monitor the team's control framework and compliance testing objectives. Carry out assessments of the US Compliance Programme as directed by the CCLO.
  • Management Information: Help develop improved Management Information, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up of all compliance activities.
