About the job
At Cloudary, we streamline cloud expansion by connecting Principal-Vetted talent directly to our partners' engineering teams. Founded by experienced cloud architects, we possess the expertise required to deliver top-tier engineering solutions. By joining us, you will become an integral part of an agile and embedded team, driving essential projects forward with speed and efficiency.
We are seeking a Senior Cloud & DevOps Engineer to spearhead our client's transition from on-premises data centers to AWS and to help architect a modern, cloud-native data and application ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with our near-shore platform and delivery teams to create scalable infrastructure, optimize CI/CD processes, and ensure robust security and observability across diverse environments and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the final migration of systems, particularly bot workloads, from the data center to AWS. This includes:
Creating transient, ephemeral deployments using Qovery.
Developing and assessing detailed Terraform plans.
Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions.
Deploying systems to development and production environments.
Providing expert troubleshooting for serverless AWS components (Lambda, Batch, SQS, Step Functions).
Designing observability frameworks for new systems.
Establish the infrastructure for a new API built on the new data layer.
Develop the infrastructure for a new website powered by this API.
Data Layer Development:
Lead the strategic design and implementation of a new data layer to supersede legacy Aurora MySQL and OpenSearch systems. As an AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME), guide the client's team through a greenfield architecture selection for AWS-native solutions tailored to their evolving needs. Take ownership of defining a future-proof data stack in an environment where the target architecture is still being determined. Evaluate business requirements to recommend and implement the best combination of AWS data services.
Ongoing Responsibilities (BAU):
Provide continuous support and troubleshooting for GitHub Actions pipelines.
Conduct regular security assessments and updates, which include:
Implementing dependency automation (finalizing Renovate and enabling auto-merge for patches and minor updates).
Leading the requirements gathering and implementation of a new centralized SIEM solution (likely OpenSearch).
Establishing initial Azure and GCP footprints, ensuring compliance with CIS from the outset.
Manage lifecycle updates and deployments of Terraform infrastructure.
