Are you ready to push the boundaries of what's achievable?Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. Progressing towards or fully Chartered Engineer status (CEng MICE or equivalent) is preferred. Proven experience in delivering civil infrastructure projects, particularly in data centres, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale developments. Familiarity with planning, highways, drainage, and utility approval processes. Experience in multidisciplinary team environments, facilitating design coordination and technical delivery. Understanding of BIM modeling processes and proficiency in collaborative platforms.

AECOM is on the lookout for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team, focusing on delivering comprehensive civil engineering designs and technical documentation for a variety of data centre projects. Your expertise will play a key role in site assessments, master planning, detailed designs, and providing construction support. This position will contribute to our ongoing success and strengthen AECOM’s civil engineering capabilities in the data centre sector.

As part of the Civil Engineering Business Unit, you will collaborate with a diverse team of ground engineers, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, architects, project managers, environmental specialists, and surveyors, both locally in the UK and globally, to support our extensive data centre project portfolio.

Your role will involve assisting with project delivery, providing civil engineering insights for major technology clients, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance AECOM’s standing in the Hyperscale and Co-location data centre markets.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert civil engineering support for data centre projects, ensuring adherence to AECOM standards and regulatory guidelines.
  • Deliver and evaluate civil infrastructure designs and specifications, crafting practical solutions for site development, earthworks, drainage, pavements, access, utility infrastructure, and civil engineering tasks related to data centres.
  • Coordinate with fellow civil engineers and technical professionals in delivering our data centre project portfolio, including ground engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, project managers, architects, and environmental consultants across the UK and our global operations.
  • Mentor and assist in the development of junior engineers, enhancing AECOM’s technical expertise and delivery excellence within the Data Centres sector.
