Qualifications:Minimum of ten years of design and engineering experience in civil engineering is required. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software and other engineering automation tools (e.g., Revit, BIM 360). Demonstrated ability to operate technical analysis and computer equipment effectively. Strong verbal and written technical communication skills, with the ability to comprehend technical literature and engineering plans. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, applying professional knowledge to both routine and complex engineering challenges. Expected to cultivate financial project management skills through assigned project roles. Exhibit professionalism, maturity, and a proactive approach to resolving internal and external challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize professional judgment as an individual contributor to independently execute assigned engineering designs.
  • Support the Project Manager or take on the Project Manager role, delegating tasks and timelines to Project Engineers and team members while addressing inquiries and tracking progress.
  • Ensure the accuracy of tasks completed by other engineering and technical personnel through formal and informal QA/QC checks.
  • Make significant design decisions that fulfill external client requirements while coordinating the effects of these decisions on related project elements.
  • Identify and proactively address technical, scheduling, or financial challenges, seeking resolutions from the Project Manager and/or clients as necessary.
  • Assist clients with bidding or contractor selection, contingent upon Project Manager authorization.
  • Oversee construction activities and supervise field staff engaged in data collection or project-specific tasks.
  • Respond to contractor inquiries and issues, preparing and issuing project addendums as necessary.
  • Recommend and draft change orders.
  • Engage in developing engineering service proposals, including time schedule and cost estimations for the proposed work.
  • Communicate independently on technical issues with clients.
  • Serve as a technical authority on assigned projects, acting as an individual contributor and managing smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned.
